This is an image of my rescue dog, Ella. In the image, she is wearing a mask that was handmade by a Chippewa Valley resident, Cecilia Schemenauer. Our family who is a resident of the Chippewa Valley turned towards humor and quality family time to cope with the changes, uncertainty, and fear that came with COVID-19. Our dogs were huge support systems for us and an easy escape from the world around us. They made us smile and laugh during a stressful time.
