Coronavirus: A Haiku
Item
- Title
- Coronavirus: A Haiku
- Description
- I wrote this poem because of the argument that wearing a mask is a "violation of personal rights". I understand that it can be frustrating for the government to say you must wear something, but when that "something" is simply a piece of fabric that can prevent the spread of a deadly virus, I feel that it is ridiculous to argue with it. So many people in the Chippewa Valley refuse to wear masks in public places, and yet complain that they want things to "go back to normal". We can't get back to normal until we stop politicizing defending yourself and others against a virus that we can, in fact, control.
