"Stanley has about fought its way out of the epidemic of influenza. The splendid co-operation of all forces in that city has enabled the board of health to pass through the epidemic with but few casualties.

The condition of both Dr. Starr, health officer, and Dr. Riopell, who are ill with pneumonia, is reported to be greatly improved. George Uhlander, the garageman, also is showing signs of recovery.

Dr. Lathrop of Ripon, member of the state board of health is at Stanley aiding the sick. He is able assisted by Miss B. Sievert, visiting nurse, of Chippewa Falls, and another nurse from Luther hospital, Eau Claire. Stanley people who were here yesterday give great praise to the nurses who have rendered to the people of Stanley services that can never be forgotten. Mrs. Lyla D. Flagler, federal food demonstrator, has been in Stanley to assist the people there. She has established temporary headquarters in the domestic science room of the high school and is preparing food for the sick. She is assisted by two ladies in the morning and these are relieved at noon by two others.

H. F. Sargeant has given all his time and the use of his car to the work, acting as chauffeur for Dr. Lathrop. The doctor is taken from one home to another without loss of time and is thus spared the effort of walking."
