"Except for the absence of students detained in Chippewa Falls by a lapse in the interurban service, the normal school opened yesterday, after nine weeks' enforced vacation, with its full attendance and two new students.

A graduate trained nurse is to be present daily to inspect students for any symptoms of illness and care for those who may develop any illness. The small number of cases of influenza in the city gives no cause for apprehension, but the superintendent felt the securing of the nurse a wise precaution, as students have gathered from various localities where they may have been exposed to infection. He also remarked that parents of out-of-town students would feel less anxiety for their children if they know efficient care would be furnished all who might be ill.

The state normal school physician, Dr. Garrity, is soon to come here on a tour of inspection. She was due before the closing of school but has been detained by illness in other normal schools she has visited."
