Zorn was instrumental in developing the atheltic program at Eau Claire. Additionally, he taught physical education and served as the Dean of Men for many years. Zorn was committed to the total education of the student.
During World War II, Zorn organized clinics for local high school coaches who were unable to attend meetings elsewhere due to fuel shortages and rationing. He also organized a Civilan Pilot Training Program; several of the men in the first cohort of the pilot training program were accepted for naval flight training.
Zorn also directed daily physical training for cadets enrolled in the 301st College Training Detachment located at Eau Claire during the war years.
